Anna Warmoth of interior design studio Bananas & Hammocks consistently impresses us with her compelling interior and exterior projects, which have been highlighted in publications such as House Beautiful and Luxe Interiors + Design. With a California-based team of skilled woodworkers and metal fabricators, Anna delivers stunning and robust home solutions, with a clear specialization in customization. Her forte? Transforming clients’ visions for a space into reality.

Recognizing her knack for inventive design and her appreciation for Corbett Lighting’s range of products, we recently caught up with Anna to discuss her current residential design projects. She offered us a sneak peek into one of her working interiors: a clean and lively modern space she’s outfitting with stark geometric accents, intersecting textures and materials and pleasant West Coast flora.

Her clients have occupied the home for more than two decades without modifying or renovating its existing, simple aesthetic. Anna has been recruited to, in her own words, “bring a sense of modernity to their living space.”

She began by streamlining the floor plan: she removed walled partitions between spaces such as the kitchen, dining and living room and instituted glass doors between the living room and backyard. With these changes, Anna opened up the interior, dissolving unnecessary divisions between small areas and giving the home a more natural and inviting flow. With a more breathable layout, she could focus on renovating the bathroom and home office, making them into more functional and attractive spaces.

Per her expertise, Anna designed custom built-ins and cabinetry for each room of the home, ensuring the tailored storage solutions were both stunning and compact enough to work effectively with the size and style of the residence.

Looking to the aesthetic of her joined kitchen and dining area, bathroom and office, we began to envision a few of our own lighting families fitting her established style. We explored the Vertigo, Recoil, Arpeggio and Modernist collections by Corbett Lighting, which play off of Anna’s captivating, multidimensional modern vibe.

As Anna states, “Good lighting is essential to any renovation and that especially rings true on this project. With modest sized rooms as well as the close proximity of neighboring homes, it is important we select lighting wisely.”

After reviewing Corbett Lighting’s collections, which Anna has used in previous projects, she mentioned:

“Corbett’s line offers options that fit the modern aesthetic while ensuring that the space is always well lit!”

We can’t wait to see Anna’s final design!
