When designing a kitchen, how do you strike the balance between “cool and contemporary” and “warm and inviting”? Today we’re taking a look at this kitchen designed by Tineke Triggs of Artistic Designs for Living. Spacious and simple, kid friendly yet ideal for entertaining… we can’t think of a reason not to love this kitchen.

Triggs showcases a daring shade of charcoal gray across the kitchen cabinetry, providing elegant contrast to the deep chocolate hardwood flooring and neutral patterned wallpaper, Roman shade and backsplash. The kitchen’s airy layout keeps the space light and bright while offering high functionality. Our gleaming Altamont pendants shine in a clean, polished nickel and shed task lighting on the kitchen island.

To get the look seen here, we recommend starting with a rich earth tone like Benjamin Moore’s “Deep Space”  to create a strong backdrop for smaller details to pop. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite accessories above to add the perfect punch of detail and color.

A special thanks to Tineke for letting us share her project today!
