We're thrilled to announce our upcoming collection with NYC-based designer Kelly Behun!
“As an avid student and collector of ceramics, I was thrilled to explore the medium in my new collection for Hudson Valley Lighting. I started by paring down the surface quality of the ceramic. This results in a lovely, tactile smoothness which allows the collection’s playful shapes to take center stage. Every piece has a strong, sculptural quality. I think lighting should be able to hold its own in a room, looking just as beautiful switched off as it does on,” says Behun.
Throughout the collection, there’s an emphasis on simple and graphic patterns. “These pieces will fit into a variety of design styles, contributing to the conversation between elements in a space, with their bold forms and beautiful materials,” stated Behun. Exploring the eternal contrast of light and dark in both shape and form, this collection features black and cream enamel, as well as Nero Marquina marble and Spanish alabaster. Touches of aged brass give a surprising jolt to the light and dark forms, delivering an unexpected twist.
